I don’t know how many of you have heard this song ” Chini kwa Chini, Chini kwa Chini……???? Panda, Panda……Panda. …panda ????” many times you hear it and the body start responding to the beats involuntarily even those who don’t know the words, they start going down.
The race to the bottom seems to be accelerating every other day. It seems like a natural response to the beats. In politics, in parenting, in companies, in the education sector, our family and moral values etc the standards are going lower and lower. Infact it’s like a competition on who goes down faster.
When you watch the campaigns in the US the super powers, commonly known as the big brother, the mentor of the world. The campaign standards have hit the bottom….Chini kwa Chini kabisa. Look at the education standards, it’s all about passing exams at all cost, even by stealing.
There are two types of people, those who have decided to conform to the lower standards and the few who have chosen the less travelled path of non conformity.
The non conformers are consistently striving to go up, to raise the standards. Excellence is their only standard.They are swimming counter current which means their Concious is alive. They resist the temptations to cut corners, they are the remnants. They are moving the world to higher levels.
The Bible says, do not conform to the standards of this world but be yee transformed by the renewal of your mind. A voice is calling us to raise the standards, to raise the bar and leave a desirable legacy to our children. However the majority have chosen to go low, I like it when Mitchell Obama says ” when they go low……we go high”
Remember everything you do, think or say, has a direction, there is nothing neutral, there is nothing like standing still.
Whatever you say, think or do either;
- adds or subtracts.
- Empowers or disempowers
- uplifts or kills
- Impresses or disappoints
- Supports love or hate
- Lowers standards or raise standards.
Therefore be careful what you say, do or think because it will take you closer or further from your pursuit for excellence. Our God is excellent, he require us to be excellent.
The temptation and opportunities to cut corners, to lower your moral standards, to compromise the quality of your products, to compromise the customer service, to keep our performance at mediocre levels etc are always there. We must chose non- conformity everyday despite the majority chosing to conform. We can travel the road less travelled, we can rise above mediocrity, yes we can and we should. We can make a difference in out generation and leave a legacy of integrity, excellence, trust, honesty and love.
Above everything else your thoughts are very powerful because thoughts are things. You manifest outwardly what you think about. Philippians 4:8 Finally, brothers and sisters, whatever is true, whatever is worthy of respect, whatever is just, whatever is pure, whatever is lovely, whatever is commendable, if something is excellent or praiseworthy, think about these .
Excellence is a currency, it determines how pepole will look at you, can they hire you or do business with you? Focus on developing the quality of your thoughts, the quality of your leadership because this determines your output.
