This is a very common question that many parents ask. Its good to buy plots and maybe sell or even develop in future. my experience about land is that you will not always get a buyer when you want to sell, sometimes it happens but more often than not, you will not get a buyer within the time that you want to sell. Just imagine and as we always say in insurance”God forbid” you passed on to the next life and the kids have to look for a buyer to pay school fees and may be they only need 200,000 to pay fees for that year and the plot is worth 4m. Or lets stop being “pessimistic” and assume, your son has passed the exam very well and has to report to school by 15th Feb 2013, you only need 300,000 ksh to pay for the year, the plot worth 4m may get a buyer in June, or in dec, does that meet the need at the time? Any way all am saying is that an education plan is designed for that particular need and it is timely and especially the fact that it will pay every year from the time the child is in form one until they clear college, whether you will be alive or not.
